Poor jaw
alignment is often the culprit behind many painful
disorders of the head and neck including TMJ
dysfunction, headaches (including migraines), as well as
neck and shoulder discomfort.
When the
upper and lower jaws are poorly aligned, muscles are
strained to maintain that position, and the abnormal
pressures can deform the bones and lead to joint
dysfunction and pain. To avoid the discomfort, a person
will often hold their head in a position that strains
the neck muscles, and that strain spreads pain to the
neck and shoulders.
This domino
effect can be stopped by establishing the proper jaw
alignment with neuromuscular techniques that relaxes the
muscles, thus eliminating the strain, and easing the
pain.
